Alerta Fuego (Fire Alert) is an app for the prevention and early detection of forest fires financed by the Fundación, which gives the community and visitors the tools to be ready for a fire.
Through the app you can check the fire risk index, raise the alarm early if a fire breaks out, see the risk map for each neighbourhood, discover available sources of water, and evaluate houses and their surroundings.
In addition, the app offers suggestions on practices and safety measures to prevent forest fires. It includes an alert button to alert the authorities to the presence of a fire, and gives crucial information on how to respond in the moment.
At the moment, it is available in the area surrounding San Martín de Los Andes.
The data obtained through the app is reviewed and processed by the technical team – work on preventing fires and logistical support by the Fundación which can later be shared and made available to the community and the various authorities involved in managing forest fires.
